The 2013 Community Impact Award went to Northwestern Mutual - Clayton. Managing Partner Stephen Gross and the team accepted the award for their work with the Kingdom House in St. Louis. Kingdom House provides a variety of services including childcare, food and clothing assistance, job training, youth and teen programs, and senior companions.
For the past 10 years, Gross has worked with Kingdom House. When he was appointed managing partner, he wanted to do something much bigger for the nonprofit so he challenged his office. They delivered with a food drive called "Project Blue Bag." Armed with large blue tote bags, members of the Northwestern Mutual - Clayton office presented more than 2,400 cans of food to Kingdom House. Gross' 2015 vision is for the office to donate 10,000 cans of food with the help of clients and the community.
