Microsoft is announcing that Northwestern Mutual is the winner of its prestigious Website Innovation Award, honoring the company’s successful redesign of its flagship website, http://www.northwesternmutual.com.  In addition, the Business Marketing Association revealed that Northwestern Mutual won the organization’s Social Media Award of Excellence for its Dress to Impress Facebook application.  Both new websites were launched in early January 2010.

The company redesigned NorthwesternMutual.com with a simplified navigation, making it easier for people to find the information they seek.  On the site, the company also launched a life event application, a rich Internet application designed to engage consumers on financial solutions they may need to meet changing circumstances.
