    Basic Function: The Lean Improvement Coach partners with senior staff to lead process improvement efforts across multiple operational teams at Northwestern Mutual.  The focus of these improvement efforts is to eliminate non-value-added activities to improve the customer experience, engage employees in improving their work, and achieve improvement goals for the organization.  The Lean Improvement Coach will partner in leading Rapid Improvement (i.e. Kaizen) Events, map and document workflows, observe and time work tasks, capture and analyze metrics, and perform additional analysis and facilitation to achieve objectives.  The Lean Improvement Coach will partner with senior staff to influence, coach, and mentor individuals at various levels in the organization to achieve results and promote and sustain the transformation to a process improvement culture. 

    Qualifications: Minimum of 4 years of work experience, including 2 years of process improvement experience.   Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and Lean or Six Sigma Green Belt Certification or equivalent experience.   Demonstrated proficiency in lean process improvement efforts, including data and process analysis skills.   Demonstrated experience delivering sustainable results and contributing to process improvement efforts.  Prior experience coaching and mentoring others, particularly in process improvement tools and techniques.  Ability to effectively communicate and influence staff and front line leadership to increase engagement and understanding of Business Process Improvement processes, goals, and benefits.   Experience in implementing roll out efforts and authoring and publishing quality technical documentation (in disciplines including but not limited to process improvement) to ensure sustainability of the Business Process Improvement program and individual efforts.

    Description:

    BASIC FUNCTION:  Provides instructional design and project management expertise to identify training needs focused on both home office and field operations areas.  Design work is focused on determining the clients objectives, key messages and other strategic considerations.  Instructional design and project management initiatives are unstructured.  Focus of training is participant development of critical thinking skills to work through and address problems and solutions based on defined business outcomes.  Independently leads and executes complex department and cross-departmental projects with responsibility for managing the scope, risk and business value.  Applies project development methodologies and provides consultation to departmental trainers and others inside and outside the department in order to meet department and cross-departmental goals.

     

    QUALIFICATIONS:  Bachelor’s Degree with an emphasis in instructional design, communications, English, adult education, or journalism required OR a significant amount of directly-related work experience beyond the minimum required for the position. Minimum five (5) years instructional design to include extensive experience in analysis, design, development processes, strategies, delivery, and evaluation methods. Ability to apply knowledge of industry best practices and adult learning principles across complex business needs. Also requires significant experience in project management skills to include analysis, design, project management, benchmarking and project documentation. Experience developing several instructional approaches required, including instructor-led, CBT/WBT, multi-media programs, and blended solutions. Proven project management skills including negotiating, leadership, delegation, planning and organization. Demonstrated understanding of team leadership, business practices and their application for effective project management. Demonstrated effective use of consulting skills. Ability to independently lead all phases of a learning-related project using a project methodology. Strong analytical and intuitive skills in decision-making and problem-solving. High level of flexibility, creativity, and persistence in exploring innovative solutions to unique or non-standard situations. Demonstrated ability to lead decision-making process through idea sharing and consensus-building while maintaining a broad “company” perspective. Approaches issues in a mature, constructive manner.   • IT Access Management Program Manager

    Description:

    BASIC FUNCTION:  As Risk Management Consultant, you establish and optimize risks and controls, accountable for consulting and advising on large, complex and, often, ambiguous issues related to Identity and Access Management (IAM) process and controls.  As a leader and subject matter expert for IAM processes, you will:be engaged with information protection policies/standards; design/evaluate processes/controls to enable compliance with IAM policies; evaluate and approve deviations to information protection policies; promote information protection awareness through training activities; evaluate and make decisions on noncompliance issues; lead, coach, and mentor NML staff on the information risk management program, including specific processes intended to ensure consistency and quality. Further, you will develop action plans to support departmental and corporate strategy. Above all, you demand excellence of yourself; you handle tasks with the highest possible degree of accuracy and discretion.  Candidate will manage budget, oversee capacity of team resources, and provide initial assessment of work coming to the team. 

     

    QUALIFICATIONS:  Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in MIS, Business or related field; or related work experience beyond the minimum required. Ten or more years of experience in information systems, information systems audit, or information risk management with a demonstrated knowledge of project delivery and change mangement. Proven ability to design and implement  IT general controls. Demonstrated ability to lead, coach and mentor other staff members. Strong ability to independently identify and resolve critical and complex issues through effective problem solving skills. Strong ability to maintain and strengthen relationships; ability to effectively influence and negotiate with internal and external partners. Proven organizational savvy with demonstrated tact and diplomacy. Proven ability in dealing with ambiguity
