    Description:

    BASIC FUNCTION:  Provides highest level project management expertise and consultation to business domains and/or the IS Department in order to meet department, cross-department and enterprise wide goalsBuilds relationships and prioritize opportunities in an effort to manage project/support objectives, design features, timelines, implementation strategy, and assignment of resources.  Accountable for understanding the business case subject matter in order to obtain sustainable project outcomes for the business.  Independently leads and tracks most complex project/support assignments in order to support the achievement of the enterprise’s goals.  Program manager responsible for one or more large, highly complex, enterprise wide projects within a domain portfolio (generally with >1 year duration, >$2M and w/ multiple domain areas impacted).

     

    ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:  Experience and desire to lead significant change efforts in the Managed Investment subject domain.  The projects include large, multi-year transformation efforts in Enterprise Data Management for Investment data using MarkiT EDM.  This transformation entails many data domains such as Security Master, Benchmarks, Positions, Legal Entities, and others across all asset classes in the portfolio.  Having an understanding of how EDM connects to various systems that support front, middle, and back office operations is also valuable.  Demonstrated ability to work in start-up environment as there are many new initiatives to tackle in a large scale agile project.  Demonstrated success working in ambiguous, rapidly changing, relationship based, heavy change management and client experience environments.  

     

     QUALIFICATIONS:

     

    • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Systems or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience
    • Seven or more years of project management experience with at least two years’ experience at a program level
    • Experience with managing projects in multiple technologies and/or business functions 
    • Experience with project management methodologies with Large Scale Agile and Scrum preferred
    • Experience in aligning projects to corporate strategies
    • Experience with vendor relationship management and/or contract creation
    • Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization
    • Proven ability to influence and persuade team members, stakeholders and vendors
    • Experience with Microsoft Project, LeanKit, TFS or similar project management tools preferred

  • Mutual Fund Accounting Specialist

    Description:

    BASIC FUNCTION:  Performs daily accounting and financial reporting for the investments of the Northwestern Mutual Series Fund and/or separate accounts, which invests the net considerations/premiums of the variable annuity contract owners and variable life policyowners.  This includes daily mutual fund net asset value and yield calculations.   The position reports directly to the Assistant Director – Mutual Fund Accounting or the Mutual Fund Accounting Consultant.

    QUALIFICATIONS:  This position has been classified as an Access Person which is subject to the Personal Trading Policy and the employee will be required to maintain any brokerage accounts with one of MSA’s approved brokers.  Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.  Two years of prior accounting experience.  Strong oral and written communication skills.  Demonstrated superior analytical and problem solving ability.  High degree of self motivation and proven ability to meet strict daily deadlines.  Proven ability to work with a high degree of accuracy.  Displays a professional attitude and is able to work well under pressure with some direction.  Ability to effectively prioritize work and resolve routine problems.  Advanced Microsoft applications experience.  Shows ability to retrieve and utilize information from accounting system and other sources.  Desirable qualifications:  Experience with mutual fund accounting or reporting preferred.  CPA or CPA candidate preferred.

  • MSEP Sales Promotion Consultant

    Description:

    This is a Project Funded Limited Term assignment lasting approximately 24 - 36 months.

    BASIC FUNCTION:  The consultant will design, develop and implement key integrated sales initiatives to drive planning adoption and meet sales goals in coordination with the Assistant Director (AD) of Sales Promotion and Integration.  With a focus on improving financial representative productivity, the role will support sales programs in alignment with Northwestern Mutual financial security promise as it relates to comprehensive planning and integrated solutions.  This extends to new planning, product and market launches, targeted sales campaigns, field promotional events, planning and product sales tools and materials.  The consultant will provide strategic thought leadership in partnership with products and markets, and will be responsible for coordination and development and approval of final deliverables (tools and resources) in support of integrated sales initiatives.

     

    QUALIFICATIONS: B.S. /B.A. degree in business, sales or equivalent. A minimum of 5 years experience in designing and delivering products and/or services to distribution systems and/or end users. Demonstrated success in designing project strategies and subsequent delivery of tools and tactics to target audiences. Ability to quickly build relationships, establish rapport and trust within our culture. Proven ability to leverage research insights and incorporate into strategies. Demonstrated strategic agility through anticipation of future consequences and trends and use of broad knowledge and perspective to create competitive strategies and articulate credible pictures and visions of possibilities. Demonstrated ability to identify marketing opportunities, develop creative solutions and implement initiatives with quality and within scope. Strong leadership and project management skills. Positive attitude with the ability to influence and motivate teams accordingly. Effective ability to identify and cultivate relationships with key stakeholders representing a broad range of functions and levels in order to advance the objectives of the organization.
