TOMS’s “one for one” business philosophy is simple: Buy a product and the company will help someone in need. The company started with shoes—buy a pair and a child in need would get a pair. TOMS has expanded their products to eyewear, bags, apparel and even coffee, which in turn has expanded how they can help others. Clean drinking water, eye surgeries and safer births have all become a part of their one for one promise. 

In this video, founder and Chief Shoe Giver Blake Mycoskie shares a new way he is giving back—this time to moms and dads in the United States by offering extensive maternity and paternity time to both.
