Alexander Peterson, ChFC®, RICP®
Alex Peterson is a Financial Advisor based in the heart of Washington DC, where he’s passionate about helping families build lasting financial legacies. Known for his approachable style, energy, and personalized guidance, Alex specializes in crafting financial strategies that feel less like rigid unorganized plans and more like roadmaps to real-life dreams.
A proud Montgomery County, Maryland native, Alex studied Economics at Franklin & Marshall College, where he also minored in Environmental Science—a nod to his lifelong love of the outdoors. His career began at Tesla, where innovation and forward-thinking shaped his early professional perspective. But it was his genuine desire to work one-on-one with people and make a tangible difference in their lives that drew him to financial planning.
Today, as a Chartered Financial Consultant® (ChFC®), Retirement Income Certified Professional® (RICP®), and Financial Advisor with Northwestern Mutual Wealth Management Company, Alex blends analytical insight with empathetic coaching to help clients move from uncertainty to clarity—and from wishful thinking to real results.
Outside the office, Alex leads a life rooted in balance and joy. He lives in North Bethesda Maryland with his amazing wife, Julia, and their beloved dog, Blaze. Weekends often include scenic hikes, tee times on the golf course, globe-trotting adventures, and catching every Formula One race he can. Whether he’s strategizing with clients or exploring new trails, Alex brings energy, curiosity, and a deep sense of purpose to everything he does.
Meet Our Team

Lending a hand in my community.
As part of Northwestern Mutual, I'm proud to help accelerate the search for better childhood cancer treatments while supporting families undergoing treatment, and survivors from late effects. Here are some of the organizations we partner with:
Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation for Childhood Cancer (ALSF)
ALSF funds cancer research, raises awareness, and supports the families of children with cancer. Since 2012, Northwestern Mutual, its employees, and financial professionals like me have donated more than $20 million to support ALSF and fund over 400,000 research hours.

Beads of Courage
Beads of Courage is an art-in-medicine program that helps kids with cancer tell their unique treatment story through colorful beads that are symbols of their courage.
