Personal

Andrew has been a Charlotte resident for over 20 years.  He has a BA in Economics from the University of South Carolina where he played collegiate club team soccer.  He met his wife of 13 years Deidrea in Charlotte at Sir Edmund Haley's.  They have two beautiful children, daughter Drew who enjoys kindergarten and singing and son Kellen who loves Spiderman and dinosaurs.

Growing up as a competitive pianist, Andrew is an avid music fan with a keen appreciation of true talent—everything from Chopin, Mozart and Dave Brubeck to Phish, Bob Marley and the Grateful Dead.  Deidrea is also an incredibly musically inclined country singer/songwriter who used to open up for Hall of Famer Ralph Stanley and has recently produced and recorded a small LP.

The Pavlin’s live in Providence Springs along with their Schnauzer Macey, their cat Puffy, and Herman the Beta fish.  You can find the Pavlin family cheering on the Charlotte Knights from section 109 or playing a game of soccer in their backyard.

Professional Designations

Andrew earned his Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU®certification in 2016.  This designation has long been recognized as the fundamental and foremost educational credential for life insurance professionals.  To obtain the CLU® designation, a candidate must complete required coursework, meet experience requirements, maintain ethical standards, and comply with The American College's Code of Ethics and Procedures along with periodic recertification/continuing education requirements.

Andrew earned his Certified in Long Term Care (CLTC®) designation in 2011. The purpose of the CLTC® is to educate professionals in the fields of insurance, financial services, law and accounting about the severe consequences a need for care over an extended period of years would have, not on their client, but on the emotional, physical and financial wellbeing of those the client loves.  The goal is to give these professionals the proper skill set to discuss those consequences, offer a plan to mitigate them, and when appropriate, recommend long-term care insurance as a funding source for that plan.

How Northwestern Mutual helps you live the life you want.

When people feel better about their money, good things happen—they become more confident and feel more secure. For more than 160 years, Northwestern Mutual has helped people achieve the financial flexibility they need to live more and worry less.

Being a mutual company means Northwestern Mutual reports to its clients, not Wall Street. They don't believe in chasing fads or taking undue risk for short-term gains. Instead, they take a long-term approach—both in the way we help people plan to reach their goals, and in the way they do business. This has served their clients (and mine) well through all kinds of economic ups and downs, including wars, recessions, even the recent pandemic.

It's why I'm happy to be part of a company that's in it for the long-haul and prioritizes clients over profit.
