Barret is a native Houstonian, having attended Stratford High School and receiving a degree in Finance from Texas A&M University. Barret also played baseball at A&M from 2008-2010. A former 1st round pick in the MLB 2010 draft, he played 6 years of professional baseball.
Barret has been married to Marileigh since 2017 and became a father to Elianne in May 2021 and Lara in 2023.
In his spare time, Barret enjoys golf, fishing, disc golf, and spending time with his family, friends.

Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation for Childhood Cancer (ALSF)
Barret Loux and Northwestern Mutual are committed to engaging and giving back to national foundations and to local communities. ALSF funds cancer research, raises awareness, and supports the families of children with cancer. Since 2012, Northwestern Mutual, its employees, and financial professionals like me have donated more than $20 million to support ALSF and fund over 400,000 research hours.
Beads of Courage
Beads of Courage is an art-in-medicine program that helps kids with cancer tell their unique treatment story through colorful beads that are symbols of their courage.
The Periwinkle Foundation
Together with his Network Office in Houston, Barret Loux volunteers at The Periwinkle Foundation. The Periwinkle Foundation develops and provides programs that positively change the lives of children, young adults and families who are challenged by cancer and other life-threatening illnesses and are cared for at Texas Children's Hospital.

Barret started his career with Northwestern Mutual in 2017. Prior to joining Northwestern Mutual Barret played Professional baseball for 6 years up to AAA with the Texas Rangers and Chicago Cubs organizations. His drive to transition into wealth management came from seeing others go through the financial perils of being a professional athlete.
