Professional

After graduating in 2002 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, I immediately began my career in sales. I chose a career in sales as it highlighted my strengths both with problem solving and as a social butterfly. This well-suited match allowed me to quickly rise through my industry. Affording me the opportunity to learn from the best talent in my industry and travel all over the United States, China, and Europe, spending almost half my year away from home. While I loved being able to travel in my early 20’s & 30’s, I was starting to feel a call to establish a more rooted community base.

It was when I was 38 I decided to make a career change. I wanted to do something more impactful than selling products that will ultimately turn to rust. I thought of my own financial advisor and the impact he had on our family.  After careful research, I decided upon Northwestern Mutual as a I felt it imbodied both my desires for how I want to run a business as well as allowing me to become more rooted in my community.

I have now been in the business for a decade. I have continued to grow a strong business through the support of friends, family, my wife, and my team. Helping to create one of top offices across the United States. While I am proud of the many awards I have achieved, my true feeling of accomplishment is knowing I am helping to provide financial security to my family, friends, and community at large. I do this not only with my own business, but also through helping to mentor new advisors who are navigating the business.

Personal

I have created a home in Livermore with my wife Amy and our four dogs. Originally coming from the East Coast when I was 11, I have enjoyed living all over the Bay Area. I feel so fortunate to have such access to amazing vineyards in my backyard since 2011, when we married and moved to Livermore. We chose Livermore because we are able to enjoy all of our favorite hobbies here, which include entertaining friends, creating our own custom brews, and collecting rescue dogs. While Amy and I are rooted in the Bay we are very fortunate to have a strong community of friends throughout the United States.

Lending a hand in my community.

For me being part of a community starts with both small scale local outreach programs, as well as nation charities. The charities that I primarily work with are:

Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation for Childhood Cancer (ALSF)

ALSF funds cancer research, raises awareness, and supports the families of children with cancer. Since 2012, Northwestern Mutual, its employees, and financial professionals like me have donated more than $20 million to support ALSF and fund over 400,000 research hours.

Big Dawgs Rescue

My wife and I chose this charity because of the important work by Joanne Rivero and her volunteers, that focuses on fostering animals in real homes with rather than in cages, where they are shown the love and attention many of them have never known. Through the work done by Big Dawgs Rescue my wife and I were able to create a permanent home for two of her rescues. Connor and Lucille have added such much chaos and yet so much joy to our lives.

The Jimmy Fund

The Jimmy Fund, established in Boston in 1948, is comprised of community-based fundraising events and other programs that, solely and directly, benefit Dana-Farber Cancer Institute's lifesaving mission to provide compassionate patient care and groundbreaking cancer research for children and adults. The generosity of millions of people in Boston and around the world has helped the Jimmy Fund save countless lives and reduce the burden of cancer for patients and families worldwide. The story of the Jimmy Fund is one of grassroots involvement — of thousands of people organizing bake sales, lemonade stands, runs, walks, golf tournaments, dances, and softball games to bring together their community and raise money for cancer research and care.

How Northwestern Mutual helps you live the life you want.

When people feel better about their money, good things happen—they become more confident and feel more secure. For more than 160 years, Northwestern Mutual has helped people achieve the financial flexibility they need to live more and worry less.

Being a mutual company means Northwestern Mutual reports to its clients, not Wall Street. They don't believe in chasing fads or taking undue risk for short-term gains. Instead, they take a long-term approach—both in the way we help people plan to reach their goals, and in the way they do business. This has served their clients (and mine) well through all kinds of economic ups and downs, including wars, recessions, even the recent pandemic.

It's why I'm happy to be part of a company that's in it for the long-haul and prioritizes clients over profit.
