Meet Brian

Brian is a dedicated and authentic leader with a passion for cultivating trust while serving others. He firmly believes that consistency in all aspects of life is the key to true effectiveness.

An internship opportunity connected Brian to Northwestern Mutual, which led to the establishment of his practice after graduation in 2010. Brian's practice is founded on strong values and a commitment to nurturing life long client relationships built on trust. Beyond serving his clients, he finds great fulfillment in leading his team and coaching fellow advisors. Brian's coaching approach is unique, emphasizing the potential within individuals rather than dwelling on their present circumstances. He firmly believes that words have the power to inspire and uplift those around us.

When he's not at the office, Brian enjoys time spent with his family. He married his high school sweetheart, Nikki, and they have three children—Owen, Faith, and Ruth—and a loyal chocolate lab, Bella. As a family, they enjoy travel, outdoor adventures, and an active lifestyle. Brian can often be found shooting hoops, hiking, or participating in seasonal sports with his kids. Drawing on his college baseball experience at Waldorf College and his twelve-year tenure with his townball team, Brian has now returned to the field as a coach for his kids' little league team.

Beyond his family and work, Brian is deeply committed to service. He dedicates his time to the Prison Fellowship Organization, ensuring that those incarcerated are not forgotten. He also serves regularly with his children on their church's greeting team, helping to establish a welcoming community.

Nikki lives in Mahtomedi with Brian, their three kids and their loyal Chocolate Lab.  She loves her role as mom and puts her Psychology degree to work every day as she attempts to raise kind, competent, and independent kids. She is inspired daily by the belief that words and actions have the power to bring out goodness in others.

Nikki previously worked with Brian in 2013-2014, and was thrilled to join the team again in 2023. She consistently exhibits a thorough approach in all that she takes on, showcasing her high capacity. Her kindness and contributions make her a valuable asset to our team.

In her free time, Nikki dedicates her time as a vocalist on her church’s worship team and can be found making something delicious in the kitchen. She loves french press coffee, hiking and being outside, and gathering with family and friends.

How Northwestern Mutual helps you live the life you want.

When people feel better about their money, good things happen—they become more confident and feel more secure. For more than 160 years, Northwestern Mutual has helped people achieve the financial flexibility they need to live more and worry less.

Being a mutual company means Northwestern Mutual reports to its clients, not Wall Street. They don't believe in chasing fads or taking undue risk for short-term gains. Instead, they take a long-term approach—both in the way we help people plan to reach their goals, and in the way they do business. This has served their clients (and mine) well through all kinds of economic ups and downs, including wars, recessions, even the recent pandemic.

It's why I'm happy to be part of a company that's in it for the long-haul and prioritizes clients over profit.
