Personal

A resident of Wilmington, NC, I live with my wife Carla, our daughter Emily and our dogs Milo and Edy. I enjoy surfing, tennis, golf, reading, and traveling with my family.

Lending a hand in my community.

As part of Northwestern Mutual, I'm proud to help accelerate the search for better childhood cancer treatments while supporting families undergoing treatment, and survivors from late effects. Here are some of the organizations we partner with:

Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation for Childhood Cancer (ALSF)

ALSF funds cancer research, raises awareness, and supports the families of children with cancer. Since 2012, Northwestern Mutual, its employees, and financial professionals like me have donated more than $20 million to support ALSF and fund over 400,000 research hours.

UNCW Board of Visitors

The UNCW Board of Visitors consists of over 50 volunteers appointed by the chancellor. Members serve as ambassadors for the university by helping to establish and strengthen UNCW’s connections with prospective donors and high-ability students, as well as legislators and other governmental leaders. A focus of this advocacy group is to expand the university's influence across the state, particularly in the Charlotte, Triad and Triangle metropolitan areas.

UNCW E.L. White Lifetime Giving Society

The E.L. White Planned Giving Society is named for Mr. Elvie Linwood White, former mayor of Wilmington, president of the Chamber of Commerce and member of our first Board of Trustees. Mr. White established Wilmington College's first deferred gift — a will bequest that established a scholarship. This community of alumni, friends, faculty and staff who are following his example of supporting UNCW through long-term gift planning are recognized as part of the E.L. White Society and receive a lapel pin to signify their participation. These donors are also recognized on campus and invited to exclusive events.

Professional

From an early age I knew I wanted to be both a teacher, and a coach. Most of my education, life, and professional experience has been spent in some form of teaching, coaching, and sales. My background in education and coaching has helped me develop the skills I use every day in working with my clients, and their families, at Northwestern Mutual. As a Financial Advisor, I work with my clients to help them achieve financial security and success through a holistic financial planning process. That process, combined with my teaching experience, is built on a belief that education and information will empower my clients to make the right financial decisions for themselves, their families, and their businesses. My coaching background provides me the tools necessary to help my clients stay accountable to their plan, so that together, as a team, we can achieve their short term and long term financial goals.

How Northwestern Mutual helps you live the life you want.

When people feel better about their money, good things happen—they become more confident and feel more secure. For more than 160 years, Northwestern Mutual has helped people achieve the financial flexibility they need to live more and worry less.

Being a mutual company means Northwestern Mutual reports to its clients, not Wall Street. They don't believe in chasing fads or taking undue risk for short-term gains. Instead, they take a long-term approach—both in the way we help people plan to reach their goals, and in the way they do business. This has served their clients (and mine) well through all kinds of economic ups and downs, including wars, recessions, even the recent pandemic.

It's why I'm happy to be part of a company that's in it for the long-haul and prioritizes clients over profit.
