Lending a hand in my community.

Callie and her team are dedicated to improving the community they live in. Through her own personal experiences, Callie is highly motivated to support the Phoenix Children's Hospital and the Charge Syndrome Foundation.

Her own son, Breaker, was born with several complex medical issues and was ultimately diagnosed with Charge Syndrome. He spent his first 7 weeks of life in the NICU and continues to visit with his doctors and therapists at Phoenix Children's Hospital on a daily basis. Breaker has beat the odds and is now a happy toddler. While his challenges are certainly not over, Callie and Breaker are fully committed to living their best lives. Breaker's journey is what has inspired Callie to get involved with Phoenix Children's Hospital and the Charge Syndrome Foundation.

Phoenix Children's Hospital

Unfortunately, not all children are blessed with the gift of health which can be challenging in many ways for not only them but the family as well. Callie seeks out opportunities to help families with medically challenged children. Phoenix Children's Hospital offers a number of ways to get involved and help. If you are interested in learning more about Phoenix Children's Hospital or ways to get involved, please view the two links listed below. One way Callie and her family like to give back to Phoenix Children's is to host an annual cookout at their home. The cookout has an “entry fee” which is a donation of toys, clothing, or books for the kiddos at the hospital. Callie's friends love to help and get involved!

The Charge Syndrome Foundation

CHARGE syndrome is a recognizable genetic syndrome with known pattern of features. It is an extremely complex syndrome, involving extensive medical and physical difficulties that differ from child to child. Babies with CHARGE syndrome are often born with life-threatening birth defects. The primary goals of the Foundation include: growing our outreach and support programs; increasing our knowledge base; promoting awareness; building networks and partnerships; and investing in leading-edge research. Callie and her family serve as advocates for the Charge Syndrome Foundation. She speaks at fundraisers and works tirelessly to raise awareness for the need for research and trials for improved treatments for children diagnosed with Charge Syndrome.
