Where I started.

My journey with Northwestern Mutual began in 1996 as an intern, after earning my undergraduate degree in English from Brigham Young University. At that time, Northwestern Mutual was my short-term plan—a place to gain experience before I pursued my MBA. Little did I know just how much the organization would come to mean to me, and how helping my clients would help me find my life’s calling.

After my internship and earning an MBA from BYU, I transitioned to a full-time Financial Representative in 1999 and quickly got involved in various leadership roles. I served as a College Unit Director helping to grow the internship program, then as Managing Director of the Provo, Utah office. In 2003, I was presented the opportunity to become Managing Partner of the Oregon and SW Washington region. I recognized how the role would allow me to exponentially grow my impact, so my wife Heidi and our three kids packed up our lives in Utah and moved to Oregon. We have been happy members of our Lake Oswego community for the last 14 years and enjoy getting out to the mountain, or exploring the various beautiful natural landscapes Oregon has to offer when we have free time as a family.

What I've done.

Speaking Engagement

During my time in leadership and as Managing Partner, I helped form nationally award-winning internship teams, won Northwestern Mutual’s most prestigious leadership awards, but most importantly, empowered Advisors and staff in our offices to positively impact the communities of Oregon and SW Washington.

I continue to be passionate about this business because there is nothing more rewarding than being a part of an individual’s growth. I have been blessed with the opportunity to help grow people throughout my career; as a leader, Managing Partner, and now a Wealth Management Advisor.

What I do today.

Annual Meeting | Roots vs. Wings

My focus now as a Wealth Management Advisor is to provide clients with an experience that will make the most of their money, encouraging them to dream big, and helping them accomplish financial goals they never thought possible.

I am dedicated to serving clients through comprehensive, coordinated planning, to help them live financially secure and leave a legacy for their future generations. My clients are the core of what I do, and I strive to work with empathy and compassion to serve their best interests.

Aside from helping my clients grow, I enjoy spending time with my wife and our children, improving my golf game, hitting the slopes, coaching, and practicing martial arts.

Lending a hand in my community.

Kenya Keys

Kenya Keys help students in rural Kenya realize their potential through education and experiences that lead to self-reliance and generational change. While student sponsorships impact hundreds each year, the educational environment makes it challenging to learn effectively. Aside from being a donor, I have made it a personal mission to travel to Africa to aid in the building of needed infrastructure such as safe dormitories, latrines, functional classrooms and libraries.
