Personal

de Winter was born and raised in New York City, to which he attributes his ability to adapt to most environments. Not just a cliché, though. He’s put this to the test by traveling to 69 countries on five continents. He also speaks fluent French and what used to be good Spanish. All of which enables him to connect with people from so many different backgrounds with so many different life circumstances.

de Winter has called Los Angeles home for 20 years. He is married to Seema, a healthcare attorney, who was a member the Canadian National Track Team for many years while completing her undergraduate and law school studies. They attribute their happy marriage to having agreed to never race each other. They have a daughter named Satara, who is eight going on eighteen.

When de Winter is not working, he is either playing tennis or choreographing dance fighting routines with his ballet ninja daughter.

de Winter holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial & Labor Relations from Cornell University and an MBA from Columbia Business School.

Certified Long Term Care CLTC®

The CLTC Certification for Long-Term Care educates professionals in the fields of insurance, financial services, law and accounting about the severe consequences a need for care over an extended period of years would have, not on their client, but on the emotional, physical and financial wellbeing of those the client loves. The goal is to give these professionals the proper skill set to discuss those consequences, offer a plan to mitigate them, and when appropriate, recommend long-term care insurance as a funding source for that plan.

How Northwestern Mutual helps you live the life you want.

When people feel better about their money, good things happen—they become more confident and feel more secure. For more than 160 years, Northwestern Mutual has helped people achieve the financial flexibility they need to live more and worry less.

Being a mutual company means Northwestern Mutual reports to its clients, not Wall Street. They don't believe in chasing fads or taking undue risk for short-term gains. Instead, they take a long-term approach—both in the way we help people plan to reach their goals, and in the way they do business. This has served their clients (and mine) well through all kinds of economic ups and downs, including wars, recessions, even the recent pandemic.

It's why I'm happy to be part of a company that's in it for the long-haul and prioritizes clients over profit.
