Professional

Prior to starting my practice with Northwestern Mutual I was a youth pastor for over 20 years. I absolutely love the opportunity to walk alongside others and share in both the ups and downs that life brings. In my 20 years of ministry I had the joy of seeing students become graduates, graduates become young professionals, and young professionals start families and careers of their own. I am extremely grateful and blessed for the opportunity to share life with so many individuals over the last two decades.

Walking alongside of and serving others are two of the main reasons that I am now helping people with financial planning and wealth management. Being a client for approximately nine years, I enjoyed the client experience so much that I am now on the other side helping building plans for others. I firmly believe that everyone should have a plan in place when it comes to finances because if you don’t have a plan for your money, your money will have a plan for you. My ultimate goal within our practice is to simply help and serve others!

I now have the privilege of working with some amazing individuals who have the same desire to help others build financial plans as I do. We want to establish solid relationships with our clients and walk along them through the ups and downs that life brings!

Personal

I was born and raised in a town just west of downtown Indianapolis called Avon. And while I have lived in Ohio since 2011 I will forever be a Hoosier, even though no one truly knows what a Hoosier is.

I am the middle child, and some say I might have the “middle child syndrome”. However, I would say that unless you are a middle child, you just don’t understand the pains that come with being in the middle. I have an older brother by two years, and a sister 8 years younger. We had the wonderful privilege of growing up in a loving family where both mom and dad instilled in us the importance of hard work and doing the right thing. One piece of advice that my dad gave me years ago was ‘use common sense and it will take you far in life’, simple but very true words.

I met my wife, Autumn, during a church youth retreat when we were juniors in high school. We started dating in college, and thankfully she agreed to marry me a few years later! I can say without any hesitation that I married up, and she is the better half of our marriage! We have two amazing children, Hanna and Titus. We reside in Heath, OH and absolutely love our community. Both of my kids are heavily involved in church, youth group, and sports. Most of our free time is devoted to one of those activities. I love being a husband to my wife and a father to my kiddos.

Additionally, I love serving at our church, working with students and their families, cheering on Indiana Hoosiers basketball, Indianapolis Colts, Indiana Pacers, and the San Francisco Giants (and yes, one of these sports teams isn’t like the others). I would love to share the story about how I became the San Francisco Giants fan with you sometime!

How Northwestern Mutual helps you live the life you want.

When people feel better about their money, good things happen—they become more confident and feel more secure. For more than 160 years, Northwestern Mutual has helped people achieve the financial flexibility they need to live more and worry less.

Being a mutual company means Northwestern Mutual reports to its clients, not Wall Street. They don't believe in chasing fads or taking undue risk for short-term gains. Instead, they take a long-term approach—both in the way we help people plan to reach their goals, and in the way they do business. This has served their clients (and mine) well through all kinds of economic ups and downs, including wars, recessions, even the recent pandemic.

It's why I'm happy to be part of a company that's in it for the long-haul and prioritizes clients over profit.

Lending a hand in my community.

As part of Northwestern Mutual, I'm proud to help accelerate the search for better childhood cancer treatments while supporting families undergoing treatment, and survivors from late effects. Here are some of the organizations we partner with:

Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation for Childhood Cancer (ALSF)

ALSF funds cancer research, raises awareness, and supports the families of children with cancer. Since 2012, Northwestern Mutual, its employees, and financial professionals like me have donated more than $20 million to support ALSF and fund over 400,000 research hours.
