Family Advisory Board Member & Program Mentor The Family Advisory Board (FAB) is a group of 21 primary caregivers of children who have been cared for at Children's Mercy Hospitals and Clinics since January 2003. FAB meets monthly to support the hospital's mission, promote collaboration between families and professionals, facilitate communication, and enhance the Children's Mercy experience while maintaining confidentiality and realistic expectations.

Program Mentor: Parents Offering Parent Support // Children's Mercy Hospital

The POPS program provides mentorship to parents facing the challenges of their child's health condition through a network of parent volunteers. The program offers guidance and encouragement on various topics, including coping with a new diagnosis, building healthcare needs into daily routines, transitioning back to school, meeting complex demands, and long-term care needs. The program also provides unique perspectives and regular positive encouragement to overcome their unique challenges.
