She graduated from Bethany Lutheran College in Mankato with an Associate of Arts degree and Gustavus Adolphus College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology. She received her Certification in Employee Benefits in 2006 and is a member of the International Foundation of Employee Benefits, Minnesota Association of Health Underwriters (MAHU) and National Association of Health Underwriters.

She lives with her husband Rich in New Brighton and has two grown children.

Professional

Lisa has been working in employee benefits since 1996. In 2007 she was given an opportunity to move within Northwestern Mutual from the Minneapolis office to the Eagan office to mange their employee benefits division.

In 2017, Lisa was able to purchase the benefits company and founded Pharos Employee Benefits. She named the company after Pharos of Alexandria, one of the Seven Wonders of the World and the most famous lighthouse in antiquity. It was a technological triumph and is has been used as a template for all lighthouses since. The logo and symbol of a lighthouse are very fitting in the ever changing world of employee benefits.

Her experience, compassion, dedication and knowledge help her to provide the guiding light for the team at Pharos. Together this allows us to adapt and guide employers and employees through the changing times of employee benefits. The goal is to create an environment structured to control costs, blend benefits to the culture of each company, communicate on a corporate and individual level and offer compliant solutions.

How Northwestern Mutual helps you live the life you want.

When people feel better about their money, good things happen—they become more confident and feel more secure. For more than 160 years, Northwestern Mutual has helped people achieve the financial flexibility they need to live more and worry less.

Being a mutual company means Northwestern Mutual reports to its clients, not Wall Street. They don't believe in chasing fads or taking undue risk for short-term gains. Instead, they take a long-term approach—both in the way we help people plan to reach their goals, and in the way they do business. This has served their clients (and mine) well through all kinds of economic ups and downs, including wars, recessions, even the recent pandemic.

It's why I'm happy to be part of a company that's in it for the long-haul and prioritizes clients over profit.
