Get to Know Mike
Mike began his career with Northwestern Mutual as a college intern while earning his bachelor’s degree at Salisbury University. Through his internship, Mike experienced a career in finance firsthand and discovered the value of the knowledge and service that he and other financial professionals were able to provide to clients. After graduating in 2010, Mike accepted a fulltime contract as a financial advisor and continued the work of building his own style of holistic financial planning. Through personal growth, professional development, and a commitment to continuing education, Mike has worked hard to establish a reputation as a respected professional and to gain the trust of his clients. In 2013, Mike completed the rigorous coursework required to earn his CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERTM (CFP®) designation, and in 2016 became a Retirement Income Certified Professional (RICP®), all to provide additional value and expertise to his clientele.
Chartos joined the Northwestern Mutual Mid-Atlantic Leadership Team in 2011, a step that would eventually prepare him to take over leadership of the Annapolis office. In 2019, Mike was appointed Managing Director of Northwestern Mutual – Annapolis, and in that role oversees the training, development, and mentorship of the many up-and-coming financial professionals in the greater Annapolis area in addition to his commitment as a wealth management advisor to his clients. His goal for his office is to help every intern, associate, and financial advisor under his leadership provide the highest level of service and expertise to their clientele.
Mike is a Maryland native and an avid Washington sports fan. He is married to Somer, and they share three beautiful children. Outside of the office, you might find Mike coaching one of his kid’s sports teams or out on the golf course. Over the years, Mike has also channeled his love of golf into a successful charitable golf tournament, hosted annually in Crofton. Over the years, this tournament has raised tens of thousands of dollars for charities such as Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation and the Wounded Warrior Project.

The Chartos Family
Lending a hand in my community.
Our team is proud to give back to our community through local and national partnerships with incredible philanthropic groups. Here are some of the organizations that we support:
Annual "Tee It Up" For Wounded Warriors Golf Tournament
Mike Chartos and several volunteers from the NM Annapolis office host a golf tournament in honor of Wounded Warriors annually during the fall. Year after year, it is an exciting opportunity to support a cause that our office and community are excited to rally around. Wounded Warrior Project supports "Veterans and service members who incurred a physical or mental injury, illness, or wound while serving in the military on or after September 11, 2001. You are our focus. You are our mission." Chartos and his team have raised over $75,000 in donations for the WWP in the years that they have been hosting this fundraising golf tournament and are thrilled and humbled at the impact that the event has had on service members and their families.

Anne Arundel County Food Bank
The Anne Arundel County Food Bank (AACFB) works to alleviate food insecurity in Anne Arundel County by partnering across our community to obtain and distribute nourishing food to neighbors in need. Mike Chartos and the Annapolis office of Northwestern Mutual are proud to support the AACFB through financial sponsorship, leadership, and volunteerism.

Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation for Childhood Cancer (ALSF)
ALSF funds cancer research, raises awareness, and supports the families of children with cancer. Since 2012, Northwestern Mutual, its employees, and financial professionals like me have donated more than $20 million to support ALSF and fund over 400,000 research hours.
