Professional

Mike serves as a Financial Advisor and as Managing Director of
Northwestern Mutual's Columbia, Missouri District Office.
Mike works closely with his clients to design and implement personalized
financial plans, which reflect their own personal values and goals. He
and his team of 4 specialize in helping business owners and families
mitigate financial risks, efficiently grow their wealth, and become more
tax-strategic.
Mike joined Northwestern Mutual in 2012 through the internship
program while attending the University of Missouri-Columbia; he was a
member of the Cornell Leadership Program, Vasey Academy and
graduated from the Trulaske College of Business. During his internship,
Mike became a Power of Ten qualifier and earned a full-time opportunity
with Northwestern Mutual in 2013.
In 2015, Mike's leadership journey began as he took on the role of
College Unit Director for the Columbia Office. During his time as CUD,
Mike recruited and developed over 20 financial representative interns
each year. As his financial planning practice and office grew, Mike was
promoted to Managing Director of the Columbia District Office in 2017,
becoming one of the youngest Managing Directors in the country. His
passion for developing and growing others has led 31 advisors to join
the company. He also became a “Top Gun” Managing Director; an honor
that requires the addition of 10 advisors to his district office in a single
year.
In 2020, Mike qualified for Million Dollar Round Table for the first time,
the premiere association of financial professionals.
Mike and his team continue to bring financial planning
expertise to their clients and develop holistic advisors to serve our
community.
When he isn’t serving his clients, Mike enjoys spending time
with his wife, Heidi, and their son, Joey. Mike also enjoys cheering on his Mizzou Tigers. MIZ!

As part of Northwestern Mutual, Mike is proud to help serve his community. Mike currently serves as Treasurer of First Chance for Children, is on the Board of the Risk Management Program at Mizzou, and he is proud to help accelerate the search for better childhood cancer treatments while supporting families undergoing treatment, and survivors from late effects.

Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation for Childhood Cancer (ALSF)

ALSF funds cancer research, raises awareness, and supports the families of children with cancer. Since 2012, Northwestern Mutual, its employees, and financial professionals like me have donated more than $20 million to support ALSF and fund over 400,000 research hours.

How Northwestern Mutual helps you live the life you want.

When people feel better about their money, good things happen—they become more confident and feel more secure. For more than 160 years, Northwestern Mutual has helped people achieve the financial flexibility they need to live more and worry less.

Being a mutual company means Northwestern Mutual reports to its clients, not Wall Street. They don't believe in chasing fads or taking undue risk for short-term gains. Instead, they take a long-term approach—both in the way we help people plan to reach their goals, and in the way they do business. This has served their clients (and mine) well through all kinds of economic ups and downs, including wars, recessions, even the recent pandemic.

It's why I'm happy to be part of a company that's in it for the long-haul and prioritizes clients over profit.
