About me
Roy Cambronero was born in San Jose, Costa Rica to Elizabeth Candelaria and Roy Cambronero, Sr. It was as an infant that Roy’s parents moved to the South Side of Milwaukee, WI. At an early age, Roy was exposed to gangs, violence and drugs in his south side neighborhood. Roy quickly found a haven at the community centers in his neighborhood where he spent most of his free time. It was within those environments, where Roy met mentors who were able to help him navigate through critical points in his adolescent life. Roy fostered relationships that would eventually fuel his passion to stay in his community and give back to those that had invested so much in him.
In his adolescent years, Roy volunteered at the Latino Community Center (L.C.C) as a Youth Tutor and Youth Mentor, in various programs. After graduating from Wisconsin Lutheran H.S., Roy embarked on a mission trip to Senegal that ultimately changed his life. In Senegal, he had the opportunity to work with an orphanage that provided protection for homeless children. This experience motivated Roy to get even more involved in his community. At age 19, Roy joined L.C.C. fulltime where he gained experience in his position as a Youth Care Worker and later was promoted to Assistant Site Director. This position allowed Roy to work closely with the Milwaukee Violence Free Zone. His passion and dedication to the youth led Roy to the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Milwaukee, where he served as a Family Service Specialist. During his tenure with the Boys & Girls Club, he helped grow their Family Share Program budget from $200K to just over $2 million in one year! Roy’s wiliness to help the youth in his community led to an opportunity with Journey House where he served as the Community Learning Center (CLC) Director at South Division H.S. It was here that Roy led after school and summer programs that impacted over 200 students daily, by providing them the ingenuity and education needed to become successful adults.
United States Army Veteran
During his time with Journey House, Roy made a decision to enlist in the Army as an Intelligence Field Analyst. Roy served overseas for 12 months, stationed at Joint Task Force-Bravo in Honduras. During his tour, Roy distinguished himself by exceptional meritorious service as an Intelligence Analyst. His analytical ability and professionalism were instrumental in bringing together inter-agency partners to synchronize assessments and prioritize threat networks within Central America. His specific analysis focused on the Northern Triangle of Honduras, Guatemala and El Salvador, which exposed key drug trafficking organizations operating throughout the region and contributed to the identification of key corrupt personnel involved in the facilitation of narcotics, weapons and human smuggling. His expertise on various Central American topics was codified in multiple joint seal finished intelligence products ultimately published to the Library of National Intelligence, a feat that had never been done by Joint Task Force-Bravo’s analyst in 32 years of existence. Roy went on to receive the Joint Service Commendation Medal, for his service of the Armed Forces.
The Journey to Northwestern Mutual
Upon returning home from service, Roy knew his possibilities were endless. He decided that his skills could also benefit the Private Sector and accepted a position with Northwestern Mutual as a Financial Representative. Just six short months into his new role, Roy was one of the top 10% of first year representatives in the organization. It would be in this new role that Roy would continue to serve his community by equipping his clients with the financial tools to help them prepare and secure their futures. Roy Cambronero is married to Nanette and father to three daughters, Ariana, Amelie and Azaliah, who he is preparing to be the next generation of extraordinary youth.

How Northwestern Mutual helps you live the life you want.
When people feel better about their money, good things happen—they become more confident and feel more secure. For more than 160 years, Northwestern Mutual has helped people achieve the financial flexibility they need to live more and worry less.
Being a mutual company means Northwestern Mutual reports to its clients, not Wall Street. They don't believe in chasing fads or taking undue risk for short-term gains. Instead, they take a long-term approach—both in the way we help people plan to reach their goals, and in the way they do business. This has served their clients (and mine) well through all kinds of economic ups and downs, including wars, recessions, even the recent pandemic.
It's why I'm happy to be part of a company that's in it for the long-haul and prioritizes clients over profit.
