About the Founder

Scott McKechnie has always been driven by a desire to serve others. A 1989 graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point, he served as a Tank Platoon Leader in US Army Europe and during the 1991 Gulf War. He was awarded the Bronze Star with "V" for valor in action against Iraqi forces on February 27, 1991. Scott continued his service in South Korea as a tank company executive officer and brigade staff officer.

After his military service, Scott sought a career that would allow him to continue helping people and adding value to their lives. He began his journey as a financial advisor in 1996. Scott’s unwavering dedication and goals led him to build a successful career. After 27 years in the industry, he founded 7 Sabers Wealth Management in partnership with Northwestern Mutual. Scott assembled a team of 7 other professionals with a combined total of over 120 years of experience, including 4 who hold CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® designations.

As CEO and Wealth Management Advisor, Scott and his team collaborate with clients to develop and implement financial plans, taking pride in seeing them achieve their goals and enjoy the best moments of their lives with their finances working effectively for them.

Community

As part of Northwestern Mutual, we are proud to help accelerate the search for better childhood cancer treatments while supporting families of patients both while undergoing treatment and after as survivors.  7 Sabers partners with: Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation for Childhood Cancer (ALSF), Beads of Courage, and Children’s Hospital Colorado Springs to help with this endeavor.

7 Sabers supports Kid Power of Colorado and Citizen Soldier Connection here in Colorado Springs by serving on their boards.

Scott and his family are very active in the Boy Scouts of America with Troop 404.

Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation for Childhood Cancer (ALSF)

ALSF funds cancer research, raises awareness, and supports the families of children with cancer. Since 2012, Northwestern Mutual, its employees, and financial professionals like me have donated more than $20 million to support ALSF and fund over 400,000 research hours.
