Personal
Steve grew up in South St. Louis, MO and is the oldest of three boys. The common question in St. Louis is where did you go to high school? Steve graduated from St. Louis Preparatory Seminary South, otherwise known as Prep South, in 1985.
After college, Steve went on work as an electronic technician with an electronic media advertising company in the St. Louis area in 1988. In 1995, Steve moved into sales with this company and eventually became a Vice President. In 2001, Steve decided to make the move to Northwestern Mutual.
Today, Steve still resides in South St. Louis with his wife, Michelle, and his three children, Madalyn, Andrew, and Emma.
HOBBIES
For many years, Steve spent a lot of time coaching his kids’ soccer teams and going to many of their sporting events. Now that his kids are past all of that, he spends most of his time with family and friends enjoying nice dinners, playing golf and being in good company.
Steve’s favorite vacation spot is going to Frankfort, Michigan every summer with his family and enjoying the beautiful weather on the western coast of Lake Michigan. He says it took him 40-years to figure out that you should go North in the Summer and not South.

The Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU®) designation has long been recognized as the fundamental and foremost educational credential for life insurance professionals. Since 1927, more than 94,000 individuals have earned their CLU®, helping them build a successful life insurance practice by providing clients with knowledgeable and ethical advice. For financial representatives, field management, home office personnel, and others involved in providing life insurance products to the public, the CLU® designation symbolizes continuing growth and commitment to professionalism.
The Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC®) is the "advanced financial planning" designation. Charter holders use the designation ChFC on their resumes and are qualified to provide comprehensive advanced financial planning for individuals, professionals, and small business owners. All ChFC advisors are required to do the same for clients that they would do for themselves in similar circumstances, the standard of ethical behavior most beneficial for their clients. Since 1982, approximately 40,000 people have earned the ChFC through regionally accredited program courses and exams.
The Retirement Income Certified Professional (RICP®) program enables Financial Advisors to make better, more informed decision-making regarding retirement financial planning. The purpose of the RICP® is to help individuals who are at, or near, retirement build a plan to ensure they meet their retirement income and other financial goals throughout their nonworking years and manage the many risks they may face. As coordinated planning and better decision making can improve retirement security, retirement income planning is a very rewarding area within financial planning. Research has shown that better decisions can make a big difference in retirement income.
Firm Involvement
Steve has been a member of the firm’s Diversity and Inclusion Council since 2020.
Lending a hand in my community.
As part of Northwestern Mutual, I'm proud to help accelerate the search for better childhood cancer treatments while supporting families undergoing treatment, and survivors from late effects. Here are some of the organizations we partner with:
Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation for Childhood Cancer (ALSF)
ALSF funds cancer research, raises awareness, and supports the families of children with cancer. Since 2012, Northwestern Mutual, its employees, and financial professionals like me have donated more than $20 million to support ALSF and fund over 400,000 research hours.

Beads of Courage
Beads of Courage is an art-in-medicine program that helps kids with cancer tell their unique treatment story through colorful beads that are symbols of their courage.

How Northwestern Mutual helps you live the life you want.
When people feel better about their money, good things happen—they become more confident and feel more secure. For more than 160 years, Northwestern Mutual has helped people achieve the financial flexibility they need to live more and worry less.
Being a mutual company means Northwestern Mutual reports to its clients, not Wall Street. They don't believe in chasing fads or taking undue risk for short-term gains. Instead, they take a long-term approach—both in the way we help people plan to reach their goals, and in the way they do business. This has served their clients (and mine) well through all kinds of economic ups and downs, including wars, recessions, even the recent pandemic.
It's why I'm happy to be part of a company that's in it for the long-haul and prioritizes clients over profit.
