Meet Tommy Nguyen
Born and raised in Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam, I moved to the United States at 14. I began my undergraduate studies at the Florida Institute of Technology, where I played on the men's golf team. I began my career as a professional golfer, where I spent most of my time in Australia and Southeast Asia as well as representing the Vietnam National Golf Team.
In the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, I decided to return to my studies and work in corporate strategy before finding my true calling with Northwestern Mutual.
Outside of work, you can find me on the golf course, shouting at the Chase Center - watching the Warriors, cooking, and spending time with my friends, family, and, most importantly, my adorable Cavapoo, Momo.
Professional Career
Like many immigrants, I was initially drawn to the corporate world with aspirations of a better future for my family and making a significant impact in my community. However, I quickly found myself searching for a deeper sense of purpose. It wasn't until I discovered Northwestern Mutual and the financial planning industry that I found my true calling.
Now based in San Jose, California, I proudly serve as a dedicated financial professional with Northwestern Mutual, seizing the opportunity to Make An Impact Everyday with every interaction with my clients and their families.
Through personalized, one-on-one engagements, I understand the unique goals and values of each individual I meet, fostering trust and building strong relationships from the outset. This enables me to guide my clients through life's financial complexities with knowledge and confidence, helping them envision what is possible and unlocking their financial potential.
Today, I've built my financial planning practice on pillars of long-term relationships, unwavering integrity, and a commitment to continuous education. I take pride in supporting professionals across multiple sectors like medical, airline, and tech, as well as serving immigrants and diverse communities. It's both a privilege and a cornerstone of my practice to provide tailored financial guidance that empowers individuals and families to navigate toward their financial aspirations with confidence and clarity.

Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation for Childhood Cancer (ALSF)
ALSF funds cancer research, raises awareness, and supports the families of children with cancer. Since 2012, Northwestern Mutual, its employees, and financial professionals like me have donated more than $20 million to support ALSF and fund over 400,000 research hours.
