The best time to plan was yesterday. The second best time is today.
About Me

I grew up in Bend Oregon and have lived here for nearly my entire life. My wife Erin and I live east of Bend, in Alfalfa, and we currently lease acreage and enjoy small scale farming.
I come from a background in medical and worked as an electroencephalographer, monitoring people’s brainwaves, for half a decade. My journey into the medical field started while I was attending Lewis and Clark College. At Lewis and Clark, I studied the workings of the brain while conducting research investigating the neurocognitive correlates of addiction and learned the ins and outs of electroencephalography.
When my undergraduate degree was finished, I moved back to Bend and began working for a neurology clinic conducting pediatric EEGs for children suffering from seizures. While I loved the work I was doing, I was looking to have a larger impact on people’s lives and decided to transition into financial planning. This change occurred after a fateful day in September of 2024 when Matt, my father-in-law and financial mentor, unexpectedly passed away.

I saw firsthand that having family close by is a huge help, but there are unexpected and strange things that cross your mind when a loved one passes. How can I go on without them? Who will I share my free time and meals with? Will I be ok financially? I saw the worry drain out of Michelle when she got a call from her financial advisor. They told her not to worry about money; a plan was already in place for their family.
Witnessing the relief Michelle experienced from having a financial plan during an unexpected loss inspired me to provide others with the same support, allowing them to focus on their families without financial worries. Not all planning is for worst case scenarios. We plan for the good and the bad. We live our lives in the now, and we save for our future selves.

Outside of work, I like to enjoy the outdoors. I have always been an avid fisherman and bird hunter. I enjoy going mushroom hunting in the fall and the spring. I love to play my accordion outside by the pond. Erin and I both have a love for animals. We have two dogs, and we like to raise pigs, chickens, and occasionally lease the pasture to a herd of alpacas.
Lending a hand in my community.
As part of Northwestern Mutual, I'm proud to help accelerate the search for better childhood cancer treatments while supporting families undergoing treatment, and survivors from late effects. Here are some of the organizations we partner with:
Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation for Childhood Cancer (ALSF)
ALSF funds cancer research, raises awareness, and supports the families of children with cancer. Since 2012, Northwestern Mutual, its employees, and financial professionals like me have donated more than $20 million to support ALSF and fund over 400,000 research hours.
