Business Week Names Northwestern Mutual One of 'Best Places to Launch a Career'

The Northwestern Mutual Financial Network has been named by Business Week magazine as one of the top 50 "Best Places to Launch a Career" in the magazine's inaugural ranking of employers across the country in its September 18, 2006 issue.

"We are honored to be featured as one of the best places for people to begin their career," said Edward J. Zore, president and chief executive officer of Northwestern Mutual. "This list is particularly meaningful because, in addition to highlighting our reputation in the industry, it points to the remarkable successes of the people in our organization."

Business Week's list -- based on responses from career services directors, employers and 37,000 undergraduates -- examined information on everything from hiring and pay, to benefits and retention. The ranking also simply asked respondents for whom they would most like to work. Among the top 50 on the "Best Places to Launch a Career" listing are organizations considered leaders in their fields including General Electric, Goldman Sachs, Google, MTV Networks, NASA, and Walt Disney.
