MILWAUKEE (BUSINESS WIRE), July 28, 2010 - The Northwestern Mutual Foundation is donating $275,000 to 26 nonprofit organizations nationwide through its 16th annual Community Service Award program. The competition, open to more than 11,500 Northwestern Mutual financial representatives and financial representative interns, recognizes exemplary volunteer involvement and dedication to charitable organizations and philanthropic projects.
Melissa Powell, CLU, ChFC is Northwestern Mutual’s "Most Exceptional Volunteer" in 2010 for her support of Feeding America Tampa Bay, FL. “Ending hunger and nourishing hope sums up the food bank’s mission,” said Powell. “Feeding America Tampa Bay provides special programs targeting childhood hunger and healthy eating. This furthers the mission of stamping out hunger in our great nation. I am very grateful to Northwestern Mutual for its leadership, corporate responsibility and dedication.”
