Causes we care about
Along with making the financial lives of our clients better, we're improving our community, too. Through financial support, volunteerism and collaboration with partners, we're helping to build a stronger community.
Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation for Childhood Cancer
Cancer is the leading cause of death by disease in children under the age of 15. ALSF funds cancer research, raises awareness, and supports the families of children with cancer. Since 2012, Northwestern Mutual has donated more than $20 million to support ALSF. Locally, the Los Angeles office is proud to donate money that will go toward changing the lives of children with cancer.
Camp Ronald McDonald for Good Times
Camp Ronald McDonald has given more than 43,000 children fighting cancer the opportunity to experience the fun, laughter and joy of life in a safe environment. The Northwestern Mutual Los Angeles office has been a long-time supporter of the camp as part of our ongoing efforts to create a positive impact on children with cancer.
Starlight Children's Foundation
While healthy children often grow up enjoying spaces designed for play, learning, and discovery, children with serious illnesses must spend an inordinate amount of time in a medical environment. Our office supports projects that turn sterile hospital rooms into lively, vibrant play spaces that provide kids undergoing treatment with the best in entertainment, education and one-of-a-kind experiences.
LA Family Housing
For 35 years, LA Family Housing has been helping people transition out of homelessness and poverty through housing and supportive services. Northwestern Mutual Los Angeles is proud to be part of the solution to end homelessness across the greater Los Angeles area.
UCLA Center for Autism Research and Treatment
Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is the fastest growing neurodevelopmental disorder in the United States. Our office supports ongoing research, treatment, and community outreach programs benefitting ASD. We partnered with the University of California, Los Angeles to launch "Peers For Careers," a pioneering program designed to help students with autism improve their college experience and integrate into professional employment.
