Lending a hand,
however we can.
We're making a differencein our community.
Along with making the financial lives of our clients better, the Capital Region of Albany Northwestern Mutual office is helping to make our community better, too. Through financial support, volunteerism and collaboration with partners, we're helping to build a stronger community.
Causes we care about
Center for Disability Services
For 75 years, the Center for Disability Services has been one of upstate New York’s largest providers of programs and services for individuals who have disabilities. We’re proud to support the Center as a title sponsor of their annual An Aficionado Experience fundraiser, as well as a donor of hundreds of gifts to the Giving Tree each holiday season.Visit partner website Visit partner website
Make-A-Wish Northeast New York
For a child with a critical illness, a wish come true can be a game-changer. That’s why we’re proud to support Make-A-Wish to provide personalized experiences that help children feel stronger, more energetic, more willing and able to battle their life-threatening medical conditions.
Ronald McDonald House Charities
Every year, seriously ill children and their families need to travel away from their hometown to receive specialized care. Our office is happy to support Ronald McDonald House in keeping families together and near the care and resources they need.Visit partner website Visit partner website
Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation for Childhood Cancer
Cancer is the leading cause of death by disease in children under the age of 15. ALSF funds cancer research, raises awareness, and supports the families of children with cancer. Since 2012, Northwestern Mutual has donated more than $20 million to support ALSF. Locally, our office hosts golf and softball tournaments each year as well as dozens of lemonade stands to help raise money that will go toward changing the lives of children with cancer.Visit partner website Visit partner website
Sweethearts & Heroes
Bullying affects our schools, neighborhoods, and individuals. Through knowledge and communication, Sweethearts & Heroes teaches kids how to be a Sweetheart—carrier of hope and Hero—someone willing to jump into action to help another in need. We’re proud to do our part to not only help victims, but to empower others to make a difference.Visit partner website Visit partner website
Albany Medical Center Foundation
Albany Medical Center offers a wide range of medical and surgical services in northeastern New York. Through generous donations, our office has helped support a Family Transition Room in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, as well as the overall mission of Albany Med to provide our community with the highest level of care.Visit partner website Visit partner website
American Cancer Society
The Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk is a powerful and inspiring opportunity to unite a community to honor breast cancer survivors and raise awareness. In October 2018, our office took part in the Albany walk in honor of the wife of Managing Partner Alex Tronco, who was recently diagnosed. More than 125 people joined “Team Gina” to raise over $11,000—making us #2 of 572 teams that participated.Visit partner website Visit partner website
The American Red Cross
The American Red Cross provides relief for disaster victims, health and safety training, support for members of the military and a safe and stable blood supply. In November of 2018, Managing Partner Alex Tronco pledged $10,000 in the form of a challenge grant to help people affected by the California wildfires. In response, donors across the Eastern New York donated more than $12,700.Visit partner website Visit partner website
