To whom it may concern:
Hello, and welcome to my website. I have chosen to take this opportunity to better explain my philosophy when working with clients, something that I believe is key to facilitating a long-lasting relationship. In my 30 years of experience at Northwestern Mutual, I have developed a unique technique and perspective when it comes to building and preparing for tomorrow.
Preparation is like an architectural feat; it must exist and grow in stable and intentionally planned stages, all the way from a foundation to the nuanced details of a designer. A foundation is put in place to protect what you can lease afford to lose, your income & your life. Without a prepared foundation, an individual cannot move forward with their feature endeavors and goals. It is my job to ensure that you feel secure in your holdings and that when you are ready to take the next steps forward, we do so with the utmost efficiency and care until we reach the next steps.
Eventually, you will move forward, have the luxury to choose your furnishings—the luxury of the investments, planning for a college education, retirement funds, or personalized charitable interests. All the while, my hope is to continue building with you until you have made it to the top: your roof, your legacy. You have planned to be able to create a legacy that will last beyond your years, to be there for your loved ones and family member. As an advisor, I will be there throughout the “construction” of your life goals and provide the same guidance I myself would follow—that is my promise to you.
All the best,
Brian G. Petrando
Professional
30 Years with Northwestern Mutual
After graduating from DePauw University in Greencastle, Indiana in 1987, Brian joined the Northwestern family as a financial representative at the Northfield Office in Illinois. He saw a gusto in the company and personal opportunities to create a significant impact on the world using his tools of comprehensive planning.
He understood not everyone is a good planner but wanted to be there to help from start to end from those in need. For the next five years, Brian continued to build a personal practice with his clients and hone his skills with the company. His enthusiasm and charisma led to the undertaking of the responsibility of field director of the Northfield office in 1991.
As director, he was tasked with attracting and developing a new generation of financial advisors. In 1996, Brian then chose to move his practice to Aurora, Illinois where he took residence as the acting field director for the newly qualified financial representatives there.
While in Aurora, Brian adopted a mentor-mindset among his representatives which later prompted his evolution to Managing Director of the Aurora office, a position he would hold for the next twelve years.
During his stint as Managing Director, Brian was invited to join the prestigious Emerging Leaders Program at Northwestern where he would engage and learn from the company’s best. The experience was quintessential to evolve Brian’s niche at Northwestern. Subsequently, the company recognized his leadership abilities and afforded him the opportunity to become Managing Partner at the Fort Worth office. In early 2010 Brian accepted the position and relocated with his wife and children to serve as Managing Partner.
Eight years later Brian made the decision to reallocate the entirety of his attention to providing financial guidance in the community he has grown to hold dear as a financial advisor; and, he couldn’t be happier doing so.
Lending a hand in my community.
As part of Northwestern Mutual, I'm proud to help accelerate the search for better childhood cancer treatments while supporting families undergoing treatment, and survivors from late effects. Here are some of the organizations we partner with:
Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation for Childhood Cancer (ALSF)
ALSF funds cancer research, raises awareness, and supports the families of children with cancer. Since 2012, Northwestern Mutual, its employees, and financial professionals like me have donated more than $20 million to support ALSF and fund over 400,000 research hours.

Beads of Courage
Beads of Courage is an art-in-medicine program that helps kids with cancer tell their unique treatment story through colorful beads that are symbols of their courage.

How Northwestern Mutual helps you live the life you want.
When people feel better about their money, good things happen—they become more confident and feel more secure. For more than 160 years, Northwestern Mutual has helped people achieve the financial flexibility they need to live more and worry less.
Being a mutual company means Northwestern Mutual reports to its clients, not Wall Street. They don't believe in chasing fads or taking undue risk for short-term gains. Instead, they take a long-term approach—both in the way we help people plan to reach their goals, and in the way they do business. This has served their clients (and mine) well through all kinds of economic ups and downs, including wars, recessions, even the recent pandemic.
It's why I'm happy to be part of a company that's in it for the long-haul and prioritizes clients over profit.
