Personal

Family

I was born and raised in Hopedale, Illinois, a small town located just 30 minutes south of Peoria. This past July I married my beautiful wife, Ashley, after being together for 4 years. Ashley completed a pharmacy residency at OSF Saint Francis in Peoria and landed a job as a clinical pharmacist. We now reside in Peoria surrounded by my immediate family. My father has been a heavy equipment operator for the past 40+ years, and my mother is a registered nurse who has worked in OSF management and auditing for the past 30+ years. Additionally, I have an older sister, older brother, younger sister, and 2 nieces and a nephew (with two nieces along the the way!). I value my family and truly enjoy spending quality time with them.

Hobbies

Athletics have played a major role in my life growing up. I was a 3-sport athlete throughout high school and then was a baseball pitcher during my first two years at Illinois Central College in Peoria. I then transferred down to Southern Illinois University Edwardsville to finish my finance degree where I was the Club Golf president and was a member of the Club Baseball team as well. My current free time is mostly spent working out and traveling with my wife, as well as keeping up with my golf game. When not playing sports myself, I also enjoy watching the St. Louis Cardinals and Chicago Bears. Our favorite spot to travel is down to the Lake of the Ozarks in Missouri and relaxing on our pontoon boat with friends and family.

Professional

Growing up in a small town, I experienced how stressful managing money can be as this topic was not often talked about. I always envisioned myself relieving stress and anxiety of others who found that managing money was bringing unnecessary  strain to their lives, and now it has become my passion. My mission is to challenge people to think differently about their finances. I want to provide clarity with the comprehensive plans we build so that people have a clear picture of what they need to do to achieve what's possible.

Past Experience

  • Accounts Payable Office - Illinois Central College
    • Managed cash flow invoices for the college

Philanthropy

As part of Northwestern Mutual, I'm proud to help accelerate the search for better childhood cancer treatments while supporting families undergoing treatment, and survivors from late effects. Here are some of the organizations we partner with:

Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation for Childhood Cancer (ALSF)

ALSF funds cancer research, raises awareness, and supports the families of children with cancer. Since 2012, Northwestern Mutual, its employees, and financial professionals like me have donated more than $20 million to support ALSF and fund over 400,000 research hours.

How Northwestern Mutual helps you live the life you want.

When people feel better about their money, good things happen—they become more confident and feel more secure. For more than 160 years, Northwestern Mutual has helped people achieve the financial flexibility they need to live more and worry less.

Being a mutual company means Northwestern Mutual reports to its clients, not Wall Street. They don't believe in chasing fads or taking undue risk for short-term gains. Instead, they take a long-term approach—both in the way we help people plan to reach their goals, and in the way they do business. This has served their clients (and mine) well through all kinds of economic ups and downs, including wars, recessions, even the recent pandemic.

It's why I'm happy to be part of a company that's in it for the long-haul and prioritizes clients over profit.
