About me
A little about me, prior to building a financial planning practice at Northwestern Mutual. I was a football player at the University of North Carolina. As an athlete, I’ve had countless great coaches and some bad ones. A great coach is defined by helping athletes excel by providing support, accountability, and helping them achieve the goals they set. As a financial advisor, I empower my clients to help them achieve their financial aspirations.
Having experienced the values of coaches in sports. I understand the importance of building strong, trusting relationships. I work closely with my clients to develop personalized financial strategies, ensuring they have the right tools and guidance to navigate their financial journeys. I educate on company benefits, understanding how to strategically save dollars for long term goals and manage tax exposure over time. My team focuses heavily on tax efficiency, diversification strategies, retirement and insurance planning. My mission is to provide clarity and confidence in financial decision-making, much like a coach helps players refine their skills and enhance their performance on the field. Hi there! My name is Gillian and I'm a Financial Representative Assistant on Jalen's team, here at Northwestern Mutual. I recently graduated from the University of Arizona, in May. Bear Down! I love helping clients reach their financial goals. My job is all about supporting our team and making sure our clients get top-notch service and personalized financial solutions.

Director of Campus Recruitment and Development
I am the Director of Campus Recruitment and Development for our Durham Northwestern Mutual office. My role is to help develop our Financial Representative Interns to become successful professionals and join the Financial Advisor career path. Jalen and I work together to mentor and coach interns to the best of their ability. Fun fact, Jalen was one of my first interns when I joined Northwestern Mutual several years ago!

Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation for Childhood Cancer (ALSF)
ALSF funds cancer research, raises awareness, and supports the families of children with cancer. Since 2012, Northwestern Mutual, its employees, and financial professionals like me have donated more than $20 million to support ALSF and fund over 400,000 research hours.
Beads of Courage
Beads of Courage is an art-in-medicine program that helps kids with cancer tell their unique treatment story through colorful beads that are symbols of their courage.
