Personal

James E. Prince Jr. currently holds a Bachelors in Education from Virginia Union University. While attending the University, James played as a Defensive Tackle on the Panthers’ Football Team. James earned his degree in Secondary Education focusing in Mathematics in Spring of 2011. Upon graduation, James started his career as a 7th grade Mathematics Teacher at Boushall Middle School in the Southside of Richmond, Va. James love for children is what led him to become a teacher. However, after committing 3 years to education, James realized that to advance his career he needed to make a shift in his career path.

James decided to leave teaching, and begun working for some of the top wireless networks. While doing so, James realized that he enjoyed both the finance and sales piece that came along with his years in the industry. James then decided to take a leap further into the financial sector and sought after a position with Northwestern Mutual, one of the top leading financial companies. James officially joined the team at Northwestern on March of 2018.

Since joining the team James has worked diligently in developing his knowledge of the financial sector as he works to grow and support his client base. Although, having since changed careers James still has a love for kids as he has become a Foster Parent and when called upon speaks at several schools throughout the city. James is the son of James and Yolanda Prince and the older brother to Tyler and Jourdyn Prince.

How Northwestern Mutual helps you live the life you want.

When people feel better about their money, good things happen—they become more confident and feel more secure. For more than 160 years, Northwestern Mutual has helped people achieve the financial flexibility they need to live more and worry less.

Being a mutual company means Northwestern Mutual reports to its clients, not Wall Street. They don't believe in chasing fads or taking undue risk for short-term gains. Instead, they take a long-term approach—both in the way we help people plan to reach their goals, and in the way they do business. This has served their clients (and mine) well through all kinds of economic ups and downs, including wars, recessions, even the recent pandemic.

It's why I'm happy to be part of a company that's in it for the long-haul and prioritizes clients over profit.
