Aga Khan Foundation
The Aga Khan Foundation (AKF) makes long-term investments to break the cycle of poverty and improve the quality of life for millions of people across Asia and Africa. The Aga Khan Foundation has a presence in 18 countries globally, with implementing program units in 14 of those: Afghanistan, Egypt, India, Kenya, the Kyrgyz Republic, Madagascar, Mozambique, Pakistan, Portugal, Russia, Syria, Tajikistan, Tanzania, and Uganda.

Quality of life depends on more than income. A family might need immediate shelter or medical attention, but education, loans, physical access to markets, employment and a comfortable living environment all contribute to lasting well-being. Accordingly, AKDN takes a holistic approach to achieving sustainable improvements. We seek to meet immediate needs such as food provision and disaster rescue, while taking a long-term approach to development through projects such as building universities and green infrastructure. We address physical requirements, from bridges to latrines, as well as less tangible aspects to quality of life, such as funding research, establishing savings societies or supporting musical performances.
Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation for Childhood Cancer (ALSF)
ALSF funds cancer research, raises awareness, and supports the families of children with cancer. Since 2012, Northwestern Mutual, its employees, and financial professionals like me have donated more than $20 million to support ALSF and fund over 400,000 research hours.
St. Jude Children's Research Hospital
The mission of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is to advance cures, and means of prevention, for pediatric catastrophic diseases through research and treatment. Consistent with the vision of our founder Danny Thomas, no child is denied treatment based on race, religion or a family's ability to pay.

Beads of Courage is an art-in-medicine program that helps kids with cancer tell their unique treatment story through colorful beads that are symbols of their courage.
