Meet Rodrigo

I am a first-generation immigrant born in Mexico and raised in Southern California. I began working for my family’s business at a young age on through college which taught me the value of a dollar early on in life. Throughout my life, my family has instilled in me the idea that nothing is simply handed to you, be that someone’s trust, time, or money.

It all must be earned.

In addition to fostering and encouraging the value of a strong work ethic, my parents always emphasized the importance of education, supporting and encouraging me in pursuing a Bachelor of Economics at University of Southern California and an MBA at Georgetown University. In my free time, I love to travel, go to concerts, and spend quality time with my family and doggo, Jameson.

Professional Background

While I have always had an interest in finance, I decided to pursue another passion of mine, music. I knew that I would never be an artist myself, but had a savviness for identifying talent in others and helping them develop into successful artists. As many college graduates do, I worked my way up from assisting in agency mail rooms, to becoming an agent, to touring the globe with high-profile clients.

I wanted to help more people achieve their dreams.

After a decade in the music industry, I felt it was time to transition to a career with a platform through which I can positively impact countless lives. Becoming a financial advisor has given me exactly that as I continue to help people from all walks of life protect and grow their wealth.

Lending a Hand in my Community

As part of Northwestern Mutual, the Latino community & a California native, I am proud to contribute to my community in and outside the office be that volunteering at the Y, organizing events to share and celebrate Latino culture, or joining with NM partners to help accelerate the search for better childhood cancer treatments.

Here are some of the organizations my team partners with:

Latino Council

As a board member of the NM Los Angeles Latino Council, Rodrigo organizes fundraisers, volunteers with the local community, and holds internal events to share & celebrate Latino culture and traditions.

How Northwestern Mutual helps you live the life you want.

When people feel better about their money, good things happen—they become more confident and feel more secure. For more than 160 years, Northwestern Mutual has helped people achieve the financial flexibility they need to live more and worry less.

Being a mutual company means Northwestern Mutual reports to its clients, not Wall Street. They don't believe in chasing fads or taking undue risk for short-term gains. Instead, they take a long-term approach—both in the way we help people plan to reach their goals, and in the way they do business. This has served their clients (and mine) well through all kinds of economic ups and downs, including wars, recessions, even the recent pandemic.

It's why I'm happy to be part of a company that's in it for the long-haul and prioritizes clients over profit.
