Alberto Portela Jr
Managing Director
Alberto Portela joined Northwestern Mutual in April of 2019 following a successful career as an advisor and leader within the industry. Following his transition to Northwestern Mutual, Al was appointed as the Managing Director in South Jersey.
As Managing Director, Al is committed to growing a diverse team of advisors and representatives, developing new talent, and creating an environment where passionate people can work in the communities that they serve. Additionally, Alberto finds a great deal of satisfaction in running his own robust advisory practice and helping his clients achieve their goals.
Alberto attended Mount St. Mary’s College in Emmitsburg, MD where he obtained his Bachelor’s Degree. Alberto is a native of the Greater Philadelphia area and he and his wife Katie live in South Jersey with their two children.
Anthony Peter Yurkowski
Associate Financial Advisor
Anthony Yurkowski joined Northwestern Mutual in July of 2020, after receiving his bachelor’s degree at Rohrer College of Business at Rowan University. Anthony knew he wanted to get into financial planning as he saw his father work in the finance industry his whole life. Anthony enjoys helping clients reach their financial goals, and strives to provide excellent service every day. Anthony joined Alberto Portela’s team in October of 2020, where he could help make an impact on a larger client base by being part of a team.
During Anthony’s time at Rowan, he played on the men’s ice hockey team. When he is not working, he likes to travel with his significant other Ciera to hockey arena they have never been to before.

Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation for Childhood Cancer (ALSF)
ALSF funds cancer research, raises awareness, and supports the families of children with cancer. Since 2012, Northwestern Mutual, its employees, and financial professionals like me have donated more than $20 million to support ALSF and fund over 400,000 research hours.
Beads of Courage
Beads of Courage is an art-in-medicine program that helps kids with cancer tell their unique treatment story through colorful beads that are symbols of their courage.
