Myndi Aven: Wealth Management Advisor
When you stumble upon an unexpected path, life offers you some of the biggest blessings!
In October 1983, while taking classes to become a Teacher, I took a position at Northwestern Mutual as an Associate Financial Representative. I loved my job and the work so much, that I stopped pursuing my teaching degree and committed to my position at Northwestern Mutual.
I assisted multiple Financial Advisors in the office with the general execution of our client's financial plans. Over the next 20 years, I grew my knowledge and understanding of the financial industry and even obtained my insurance and investment licenses. Every day is different, every client is different and I simply fell in love with the work.
After 20 years and a wealth of knowledge passed onto me, I took a leap of faith.. In January of 2007, I began my own practice as a Wealth Management Advisor. To this day, accuracy, consistency, and thoroughness inform my unique perspective on how to serve my clients.
I have continued to grow my knowledge and expertise over the last 15 years through multiple licenses and certifications, such as:
- CLU®, Chartered Life Underwriter (The American College of Financial Services)
- ChFC®, Chartered Financial Consultant (The Amerian College of Financial Services)
- RICP®, Retirement Income Certified Professional (The American College of Financial Services)
- 6, 7, 63, 65 (FINRA)
- WMCP®, Wealth Management Certified Professional – (The American College of Financial Services)
The financial world continues to surprise us but that doesn't scare me. I will continue to guide, inform, and teach my clients everything they need to know in order to live with financial security.
Myndi Aven: Wife, Mother and Grandmother
I have an incredible career but I wouldn't be who I am and where I am, without the team behind me....my Husband, my Children, and my Grandchildren.
I met my husband, Ken, in 1978 on a blind date! Yes a blind date! My best friend and her boyfriend invited us to go disco dancing. Thank goodness we aren't dating in today's world, or it would have been a Zoom meeting. Oh how times have changed! The date was a success and Ken and I were married a few years later on October 4, 1980. We were blessed with two daughters, Beth & Chelsea. Our girls have further blessed us by adding to our family in more ways than one. Beth married Leif and have two boys, Tristan & Ronan. Chelsea married Nick and have two girls, Charlotte & Ava.
This group keeps us super busy but its so worth the memories. There is nothing better than time on the lake, swimming, and boating as a family. For a few years in 2015, Beth and her family moved to Europe. We visited multiple times and have since added many adventures along the way. This sparked our interest in traveling. Seeing new places and creating new adventures with Ken or the whole family is so important to me. Our newest passion is to visit the National Parks across the United States. Checking one off at a time!
A few other fun facts that you may enjoy:
- I am a huge fan of chocolate and ice cream. Even better if its chocolate ice cream covered in chocolate sauce. The best of both worlds!
- I love the Chicago Cubs!
My love for family and a life well lived drives me every day to bring the same memories to my clients. Let me help you plan and create memories you will cherish for a lifetime!

Beads of Courage
Beads of Courage is an art-in-medicine program that helps kids with cancer tell their unique treatment story through colorful beads that are symbols of their courage.

How Northwestern Mutual helps you live the life you want.
When people feel better about their money, good things happen—they become more confident and feel more secure. For more than 160 years, Northwestern Mutual has helped people achieve the financial flexibility they need to live more and worry less.
Being a mutual company means Northwestern Mutual reports to its clients, not Wall Street. They don't believe in chasing fads or taking undue risk for short-term gains. Instead, they take a long-term approach—both in the way we help people plan to reach their goals, and in the way they do business. This has served their clients (and mine) well through all kinds of economic ups and downs, including wars, recessions, even the recent pandemic.
It's why I'm happy to be part of a company that's in it for the long-haul and prioritizes clients over profit.
